Oasis in Cardiff:
The Big Reunion Moment
July 4, 2025 – A Night That Made Music History
On July 4, 2025, Cardiff became a pilgrimage site for music fans from around the world: Oasis kicked off their long-awaited "Live ’25" reunion tour at the Principality Stadium – the first joint performance by Liam and Noel Gallagher since their infamous split in 2009. Over 73,000 fans witnessed a concert that is already considered a milestone in British music history.
The Gallagher brothers, once torn apart by public feuds, returned united and delivered an emotional, high-energy show in front of 74,500 ecstatic fans.
Iconic Support Acts Set the Stage
Before Oasis even took the stage, two legendary support acts set the perfect tone for the evening. At 6:00 p.m., Liverpool-based Britpop legends Cast opened with a powerful set. At 7:00 p.m., none other than Richard Ashcroft, former frontman of The Verve, performed hits like “Lucky Man” and “Bitter Sweet Symphony”, leaving the crowd in awe. His appearance was widely praised as a fitting prelude to the historic headliner.
A Memorable Beginning
Oasis launched their comeback with the song “Hello”, a symbolic gesture of a new beginning. The 22-song setlist offered a blend of iconic anthems and rarely played gems, including “Acquiesce”, “Fade Away”, and “Talk Tonight”. One of the most touching moments came during “Live Forever”, which was dedicated to the recently deceased footballer Diogo Jota – his jersey appeared on the screen during the song.
Brotherly Reconciliation
One of the night’s emotional highlights was the visible reconciliation between Liam and Noel Gallagher. The brothers stepped on stage together and showed several gestures of unity throughout the show, including a heartfelt hug at the end. These moments moved many fans to tears and symbolized the end of a long period of estrangement.
